Are these types of armor provided with any sort of protective coating?
Yes, we have various coating options. From Chemical Agent Resistant Coatings (CARC) to protective urethane coatings.

Most systems do maintain integrity at elevated temperatures. The protective urethane coatings do provide protection against both fresh water and salt water. Consult your PROTECH representative for more information.

Is this type of armor offered in custom sizes?
PROTECH can provide panels or kits in all types of sizes and configurations based on end user specifications. We provide both stand alone and appliqué armor designed to meet required weight and performance characteristics.

What is the lead time for manufacturing of this armor?
Generally, armor shipments can begin in as little as 2 weeks depending on volume, configuration and raw material requirements.

Is the armor rigid or flexible?
Flexible armor panels are only available for handgun levels of protection, such as NIJ Level IIIA (9mm). Rifle protection consists of rigid panels.

Can this armor be formed to a particular radius?
We do offer curved panel designs for certain protection levels.

Can this armor be cut into different shapes?
Some material compositions can be cut on site by the end user or integrator, if desired. In most cases it is more beneficial for PROTECH to provide armor cut and configured to the required specification. Ceramic composites cannot be cut using conventional cutting equipment and require a water-jet system.
